The unfortunate truth in our industry is that quotes from different companies can vary widely, even though all moving companies have roughly the same underlying costs. In long-distance moving, it's very easy for a company to artificially inflate a low quote with surcharges later on, so the final price often ends up similar across the board.
If you receive a quote that seems significantly lower than the others, be cautious - you'll usually end up with a lower level of service, and the total cost will land in the same range anyway. The real question to ask yourself is: do you want proper quality, or not? Because the price will be give or take the same either way.
For genuine quality, always do your research. Check the Better Business Bureau (BBB), confirm membership with the Canadian Association of Movers (CAM), and read Google reviews carefully.
